Assurant Specialty Property Launches Renters Insurance Tracking System for Property Managers

ATLANTA: Assurant Specialty Property, a leading provider of renters insurance programs to the multifamily industry, has launched a Web-based insurance confirmation system that enables property managers to verify the status of their residents’ required coverage.

Through VerifyIns, property managers and leasing consultants log in into a special database via an external URL. This process allows property managers to quickly verify whether residents are complying with the insurance requirement for the duration of their lease agreements.

Steve Hein, vice president, National Sales, Assurant Specialty Property, says this tool helps property managers avoid exposure to claims involving uninsured residents. “If, by chance, a resident causes a fire that damages their unit, and they lack proper coverage, the property will have to rely on its commercial insurance to cover the damages.”
