Assurant Specialty Property Creates 150 New Jobs at Duluth Center

ATLANTA: Assurant Specialty Property, a leading provider of lender-placed homeowners insurance and related services to mortgage companies, is recruiting to fill more than 150 new jobs over the next 60 days at its service center in Duluth, Ga., the company announced today.

The company is seeking candidates for positions in mail services, data processing, quality assurance, customer service and management. Assurant Specialty Property provides hazard and flood insurance tracking, escrow disbursement, loss draft tracking and hazard insurance-related customer service to mortgage lenders and their customers. The Duluth center currently employs approximately 600. The center has operated at 2405 Commerce Ave in Duluth since 1999 and occupies 79,000 square feet in Building 2000, including two recently acquired suites totaling 27,000 square feet.

Gene Mergelmeyer, executive vice president of Assurant Specialty Property and president of its Lending Solutions business, said the company was expanding the Duluth center to accommodate the continued growth of its business, including a recent 1.5 million addition to its loan-tracking portfolio.

The new loan portfolio increases Assurant Specialty Property’s portfolio of mortgages tracked to more than 30 million loans. The company’s clients currently include 17 of the top 25 prime loan servicers and 14 of the top 25 subprime loan servicers. Assurant Specialty Property also operates service centers in California, Ohio and South Carolina.
